Philip Owen Stayner enlisted in Saskatoon at the start of WW2, age 19 or so, in the Saskatoon Light Infantry. Fought in Italy and stayed on post-war serving with the PPCLI as a career officer until 1971. Retired as Lieutenant Colonel. Ironically, he died on November 11th, 1978.
